Let's Talk About Rape, Baby

I realize my audience has probably moved on to other blogs, vlogs, podcasts, and the grave, but I need somewhere to put my rage right now.

If Jerry Sandusky had been raping little girls, he would have just paid off their parents and married one of them. We'd know all of the victims' names and ages, relationship history and maturity levels - maybe they wore make-up? She initiated? Her clothes were tight, she liked it, she was ready. We would know everything about those little girls and possibly their shitty parents, too. Sometimes girls make these things up. However, Sandusky had been abusing little boys so an entire multimillion dollar NCAA sports franchise was shut the fuck down and a slew of people stepped down from leadership positions in disgrace for covering it up. Catholic Church? Same. There is a collective anguish when we hear these stories - the trauma of the boys and how they must struggle to live with that experience.

When a woman is raped, there is no collective anguish or collective grief over how her life is permanently altered, how maybe she's afraid to leave the house because Brock Turner raped her while she was unconscious or struggles to be in a romantic relationship because her view of sex will just never be the same. Men don't think of her - of us - that way. They never will, I'm convinced, and you can't make them. They're convinced a woman is lying to ruin a man because she can't remember what color the walls were or whether he had shaved that day. When a woman gets raped, it's a political stunt. If Judge Kavanaugh had been raping young men who clerked for him, insisting on sexual favors from males in his employ, he'd already be hiding under a bridge in Panama. We wouldn't even know whether any of those men were gay, liked it, or wore suggestive ties with male genitalia sprinkled all over them.

Like Bill Cosby, Judge Kavanaugh is a violent sexual predator. Is there no other possible nomination to the Supreme Court that can also stomp on the rights of women's free access to all forms of healthcare? You can't find anyone that isn't a sexual offender who is also a misogynist and will do your corporate interest bidding?

The only solution is that we need more female police officers, doctors, soldiers, scientists, mayors, members of Congress, Senators, diplomats, lawyers, judges, prosecutors and presidents. Men are not going to fix this and I'm tired of pretending that they might get better. Don't push them to be better, push them out of the way and take over. When they sexually harass you, don't sign non-disclosure agreements so he can go on to get a better job while you suspect your prospects may have been quashed. He doesn't deserve it.

You know what, men? We're coming for ya. If Judge Kavanuagh gets appointed to the Supreme Court, we're coming for ya. If he doesn't, we're still coming for ya.

I'm Tired of Honoring Foreign Governments

Fuck Jefferson Davis, Robert E. Lee and FUCK the Confederacy and tiki torches.

Last year, I took a guided tour of Destrehan Plantation in Louisiana. All of the employees were white, there was a wax statue of a black slave in the kitchen/dining area and the slave quarters were not a part of the standard guided tour, which mostly detailed the religious practice of the family (Catholic), their struggles with cholera and use of bed pans. Discussion of slavery wasn't really a part of the tour either, except to note that the wax figure represents Marguerite, who ran the house and took care of the children and had "incredible work ethic." She had two children of her own, but she was "separated from them" when they were sold to another plantation. A tourist from the Midwest asked the guide if Marguerite ever got her children back and the guide said no and quickly changed the subject. If you are American, how are you so ignorant as to even ask that question? Destrehan Plantation was the site of the second largest slave rebellion to take place in the Southern U.S. and you can do a self-guided tour of the slave quarters with some pictures documenting the rebellion and learn about how many massuhs were slaughtered before the rebellion was quashed. This is a fucking problem.

Let's put this in context - ever heard of the Armenian genocide? Armenian interest groups have been lobbying all over the world for decades to push governments into calling the Turkish attack on its Armenian citizens during WWI a genocide and a Holocaust - something the Turkish government vehemently denies and lobbies governments and rights groups to NOT call a genocide. Lobbyists have gone so far as to lobby for denial of the genocide criminalized - as in, if you deny that it's a genocide, you are breaking the law. Here in the U.S., Presidents and State Governors have grappled with this Armenian genocide issue and come under pressure to acknowledge the genocide in spite of Turkey's resistance to the label - almost a hundred years later. Meanwhile, in America, anyone can say and teach any old thing they want about slavery - like that some slaves were loyal and liked it, it wasn't that bad, slaves had work ethic - and denial of the most basic horrors that slavery entailed. SOME even pretend that once slavery ended, so did all of the issues associated with slavery for Black America.

You want to compare slavery to the Holocaust of Germany? You cannot fly a Nazi flag in Germany and there are monuments everywhere to commemorate the horrors faced by millions. Museums worldwide abound with artifacts to commemorate what was lost and what abuses and horrors were committed. Slavery gets no such treatment in the U.S. where entire generations lost their families, personal histories, were brutalized and dismembered and lived in fear for another 150 years of being lynched, burned, or drowned if they made eye contact with the wrong person in the wrong town.

This whole changing history and historical pride nonsense is dumb and totally out of control. Monuments to traitors that seceded from the Union, specifically citing slavery as a top reason in many of their secession documents, should be torn the f-- down. Saying that it is "deleting" American history is crap, because those monuments have already deleted a large swathe of important history - like the reality of the role of slavery in the Civil War and the reality of institutional racism and its continuing oppression. Don't give me that economy nonsense - SLAVES WERE THE ECONOMY AND THE SOUTH WENT TO WAR OVER SLAVES. Where are the monuments honoring Mary Bowser - a Union Spy and former slave who secretly learned to read and write and spied on Jefferson Davis? She deserves a monument and an honored place in history. We need a nationally recognized and historically appropriate curriculum about slavery, Juneteenth, Jim Crow and Civil Rights. Ignorance has become incredibly dangerous.

Nazi and KKK protestors in Charlottesville, VA do not deserve free speech protection because free speech is not free license. When you are inciting violence, you are not free to use the first amendment as cover. White supremacists have been murdering people in this country for more than 200 years - it's part of their philosophy to devalue any human life that doesn't meet their ideals - how the fuck is that protected speech? They are not peaceful and their message is not peaceful and if you are worried about blue lives then speak the fuck up because two police officers died working at a rally of white supremacists yesterday.

Is Being Unlikeable Illegal?

Why is it big news that John McEnroe, famous giant toddler, thinks men are physically superior to women (which most men probably believe and also some women), but it's not big news that people in Michigan and West Virginia still don't have water to drink, cook with or bathe in years after poisoning? Why hasn't America deployed the Army Corps of Engineers to give its own people clean water? What is taking so long? Oh, we can't, because that person over there wants to identify as non-binary and that other person might be scamming welfare and I need my safe space alternate reality made entirely of positive feelings in which there is a different president who is a gay Asian unicorn that farts equality and doesn't see color.

Why do we care that the average schmoe says dumb racist stuff on Twitter?
Why are you obsessed with what gender someone chooses to identify with, or that they want to make that choice for themselves? What does that have to do with what time your macaroni and cheese is ready to eat? Just shut up and eat your Kraft.
Why was a Yale Dean fired from her job for writing mean things on Yelp reviews? Since WHEN is being an elitist at an Ivy League institution the WRONG attitude?
Why the hell does everybody care so much what everyone else is up to?
Stop trying to legislate away people being jerks and stop trying to pass jerky legislation that only affects small groups of people.
PEOPLE DON'T HAVE WATER IN THIS COUNTRY.

Finally, the government has managed to actually charge a couple people with manslaughter (over Flint, MI, which first came to light in 2014), but still no clean water. Although, people are so politically obsessed with their identity as either Republican or Democrat, that $30 million was spent in a Congressional campaign in Georgia for a single election - just one person - to have a little bit more power or influence - but nothing like that amount has been raised to prevent small children from having to bathe with bottles of water. I'm not even talking big jugs and tanks of water - literal small bottles of water that you would buy on a hot day because you don't care about the environment.
And holy fucking smokes a man dressed as a woman might pee in a place I think they shouldn't pee.

If you're sitting on a little hill of guns convinced some Libturd is going to try to take them away from you or you are filling out post-it notes with perceived micro-aggressions you experienced at the movie theater when you overhead people praising Donald Trump that you want to discuss with your attorney - turn on your kitchen faucet and see if your water is drinkable.
