Was that a thing of the 80s and 90s? Apparently not because they were in my hood this morning with their pamphlets and clean clothes and such.
I was on a walk and a grandmother encouraged her 7-year old granddaughter to approach me to ask me if I wanted to talk about God. She was very cute.
"No thank you, sweetie, I don't believe in God."
Her eyes welled up a bit. Her granny did a tsk tsk and shook her head while ushering the little girl on like I was some pedophile who put a mirror on the floor of the playground. I was very polite and let's face it, a kid like that is probably way more used to rejection than I am. Why am I the bad guy here? We live in a country with religious freedom, but how about freedom from religion? Geez.
Man, I wish I could have been there. That child is likely traumatized for life.
