I don't like the phrase the nation's epidemic of obesity because it implies that there is some sort of germ that we're all catching that forces us to eat Twinkies and boiled hotdogs while lying prone on our backs and staring at the t.v. we had mounted on our ceilings because we were too tired of having to put all of that effort into sitting up to watch our favorite show: Biggest Loser.

Can a medicine help overcome my inability to take care of myself in a reasonable fashion? That's the medicine I need, something that will allow me to not at all take responsibility for my bad choices and lazyass. Thank you, science, for helping me to avoid vegetables and exercise. Thank you, America, for footing the bill on this "epidemic." GODDAMMIT! Being a selfish moron is not an epidemic, country! How about you just stop guzzling soda and pork rinds while riding your easygo through Walmart looking for the best deals on sweat pants that don't chafe your thighs.

The name of this drug is Qnexa and one of the side effects is memory loss. Really? You would rather take a stupid pill than just get up and go for a walk while just not eating like jabba the hutt? I would say our lack of control as a country is more to blame for all of our social ills than any other one negative factor in the mix. Two years ago, the F.D.A. declined to approve the drug because of its link to birth defects and cardiovascular problems, but doctors can prescribe the basic components (phentermine and topiramate) off-label. You would rather take poison than just eat appropriate portions, healthy food and get a bit of exercise?

It's not a goddamned disease. You are a selfish child incapable of growing up and taking responsibility for your bad choices. You can either eat what you want and not worry about what the rescue crew's day is going to be like when they forklift you out of your house, or you can take responsibility for it and make better choices.
