I Didn't Realize The Miss America Pageant Mattered Again

In this country, we give a whole lotta press to idiots. They even have their own news channel and it's not The Onion. People say racist garbage about how Syrian citizens were gassed and we--oh wait, no--people say racist garbage about the massive flooding in Colorado and the damage it---oh wait, not that---people say racist garbage about the continuing financial cris--no? An effing swimsuit competition where useless talents are exhibited and women are on display for their physicality? Nkay. Has any contestant who ever wished for world peace gone on to work for the UN in the field of diplomacy? I'd love to see that statistic.

Look, I read those tweets from twits about how the new Miss America, of Indian descent, is an Arab or a terrorist and in America, you're a true American if you are a blonde with tattoos or that the winner was Miss 7-11 and you know what those little blips from idiots had in common? Spelling errors, lack of understanding of the "melting pot" and grammar flubs. What does this tell us? When people say ignorant shit, they pretty much reveal that they are, in fact, ignorant. This country was built by immigrants and slaves. Those immigrants and slaves had different colored skin, different eye-shapes, a variety of hair textures and a whole bunch of religions. That's never really changed. Also, idiots aren't a new invention, but increased communication capability has led to giving every idiot a megaphone (social media), so me and all of the other idiots on the interwebs are just going to keep saying ig'nant shit. Why are we still shocked by racism?
