The More You Know. . .

I went to Leitner Observatory tonight and learned a few things about the universe.

When a star is very old, it becomes a ring nebula and lets off a lot of gas and shrivels up, shrinking to almost nothing. Just like people. Patterns in nature, folks. Here is a Ring Nebula:

At the end of the actual planetarium viewing, there was a short film about telescopes narrated by an Asian tween. She was describing viewing power in telescopes based on the size of the lens and then mentioned owls having night vision because they had such big eyes. Then, she showed a ginormo telescope that she was going to climb a small ladder to look into and exclaimed "Even I could see other galaxies in this telescope." The inflection was clearly on I and I just want to know if that is because she is not an owl or if it is because she is Asian and could therefore have smaller pupils. Anyone?
