Booze and your health

If I can see my fingers through the glass, it's not bad for me, right? At least, that's how I've always looked at my options when comparing, say, sauvignon blanc to coca cola. I'm better off with 100% crystal clear vodka tonic than some sugary dark purple kool-aid. Plus, if you have too much coke or purple kool-aid, cravings increase and you eat and drink more. You have too much vodka or sauv blanc and you will puke a lot and not drink anything for a while, thus losing weight. This is an airtight theory.

Beer is good for you because it reduces the risk of stroke and cardiovascular diseases. Does kool-aid do any of that? Does coke? No, they just make you fat and addicted to sugar. I am unclear whether these theories apply to children as I don't have any to try it out on.

  1. Beer is health food. Wine is full of antioxidants. Irish Coffee has all four food groups: Sugar, alcohol, caffeine and fat. And a Bloody Mary will cure your hangover.

    Cheers!
