Sitting In My Attic, Quietly Panicking About Ebola, I've Had Time To Think

Has the body of that patient that died in Dallas been monitored for re-animation and violent after-death zombie symptoms? The President has refused to comment on this.

I'm not exactly afraid of contracting the Ebola virus, but what scares me about Ebola is how whipped into a frenzy people get at the idea of an epidemic. It's the frenzy that worries me: running out of duct tape at the hardware store could cause a riot. When people are being fed a steady diet of fear, they just go nuts. I'm sure there are some folks on your t.v. right now trying to convince you that voting a certain way in November is literally a vote for Ebola killing us all. Oh my god, now Ebola is affecting our democratic process???!!! Nooooo!!!

It's no surprise that the disease is in a couple of States now, the whole "human error" factor in letting it leak out was also really REALLY predictable. If we were watching this play out on the big screen and Renee Russo was playing the part of an infectious disease specialist saying things like "Let's just move these patients around the country. . ." - we would all be screaming at her and throwing popcorn.

The news coverage is just nutty. If you're not afraid, don't tell anyone because then they will just try harder to loop you into the fear and anxiety.

Honestly though, my birthday is next month and I really want someone to get me a hazmat suit. Maybe a gas mask and a box of MRE rations, too. Is Dayquil effective against Ebola?

  1. How do I know you haven't flown on a route similar to the Ebola nurse? I'm not reading this blog anymore lest I catch it from you. ZOMBIES!

  2. Has it been 21 days? Have you appointed a czar yet to manage your symptoms?
