There's This Guy, John McKenzie Jr, Who Is A Total Jerk

He's some Twitter twat who heckles my husband. My husband works in politics, the ugliest dirtiest business I've ever seen up close, and he likes to say horrible things like "have fun in the unemployment line, communist" and "your dog is ugly" in response to this:

First of all, he's wrong about both how communism works and my dog being ugly. He has the caesar beard, too, according to his profile picture, even though it's no longer 1998 and Color Me Badd broke up years ago. THIS IS WHAT SEXIST INTERNET TROLL BULLYING LOOKS LIKE, ASSHOLE.

I'm so mad. The thing is, when you see stuff like that in politics, cruel hateful comments targeted at strangers, it seems like it's always some fat or ugly (or both) conservative jerk. It's one thing to have a difference of opinion about how you would like to run the community you both care about, it's another thing entirely to reach out to strangers and insult the most beautiful dog in the world just because she believes in a higher minimum wage, paid sick leave, affordable college tuition, student loan debt relief, and not killing first-graders while they're trying to learn to read at schools with the highest paid teachers in the country. You're not into that stuff? Well, let's go vote it out, but can't we be civil? I really liked your walk-on bit part in New Jack City. There. See? I said something nice.

If I had any serious computer skills, I'd create a game with that guy's face on a bunch of corgis voting for Elizabeth Warren and carrying former Congresswoman Gabby Giffords around like a cesear-bearded Hodor.

Oh yeah, don't forget to vote tomorrow. Not that you would, knowing that in our sad, bloody national history men and women died for you to have that privilege. Also, feel free to vote for my husband so that I can continue to buy the good peanut butter.

  1. Ha ha ha. The bad news is, read Madame Bovary. The good news is, there are millions of women trying to get into this country to have a better life, but with such strict border controls, it's so tough for them to realize their dreams. You are giving them an incredible opportunity, and encouraging others to do so as well. Bravo.
