As I may have previously mentioned, my apartment is constructed of white volcanic stone. The city I live in has been dubbed "The White City" for this reason - it can be quite striking as part of the cityscape. Well, there is a weird mold that grows in between the rocks. I thought it was dust at first because it's powdery and sits like icicles on the walls, which curve over one in an arch. It's mold and it's making me sick. I have this awful dry cough and I downed almost an entire bottle of cough syrup over the course of 21 hours. It was for a wet cough, I think that's where I went wrong. I bought another bottle today of a slightly different variety and I bet it's going to be magical.
In other news, I've been taking Spanish classes this week. Four hours per day of intense beginner lessons and I found out that I've been telling people I've been here for one table instead of for one month. Also, when I've tried to help people and they refuse - it's because I'm telling them they must help me and I'm not actually offering to do anything for them. Woopsy.
